On Education and Reward

We would like to share with you a part of the letter that our school principal, Teacher Maricar Estole, sent to all the parents of ABS-CBN Children’s Center students. It is very true that having the opportunity to study is already a reward in itself.

I encourage all of you to find the time to talk to your children and discuss how important it is for them to get the right education, to be grateful and appreciate what they have, to be accountable and take responsibility for their actions and most of all, to know that it is they who will benefit from all these learning that they will take on as they grow older.

It is sad that we live in a very materialistic world, and that we may often promise our children to buy things as reward for their good grades, when most often tan not, children do not need all these materials rewards promised to them. It is realizing and experiencing the value of education and the importance of being a good-hearted individual that can eventually contribute or pave way to their being productive, responsible and happy individual.

For all the lessons, thank you, Teachers… and thank you Mom and Dad.
